Have you noticed how left-brain thinking is the dominant approach in business, politics, economics, social policy... every aspect that governs society, really.
There is no room for, well, the F word... FEELINGS.
If we had FEELINGS actually factor into our policies, legislation, guidelines... then it would be much harder to justify the racist, sexist, classist... biases that have become systemic in our modern day society. Much easier to dominate if we do it from our logical thought process than if we endeavor to come from the heart, right?
Exploring how that came to be is a whole other topic and, I think, we can all agree that patriarchy has a hand in the devaluing of what is considered a feminine characteristic.
Anyhooooo...
The point being, our culture has become feeling - avoidant. When women feel, they are seen as too much to handle. When men feel, they are shamed and emasculated. That's so sad.
And what happens when we unwittingly collude with the program to not feel our feelings? They don't go away. They don't resolve themselves. They don't sit there quietly, obediently waiting until we give the command to move.
Our unprocessed emotions are like little beacons, sending a vibe into the world to attract people, circumstances, situations... that resonate with the pain, fear, anger... that is like a caged tiger needing to be let out.
This is very interesting to me! 😍
